Can you guess the four I chose?

Lately I've been:
Trying out new recipes. Last night I made Angel hair, lemon shrimp, tomato basil pasta. I've invented a new garlic bread (extra olive oil) and tried out chewy gingersnap cookies, with molasses. I'm also catching up on my reading. I just finished Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. My attention was held captive the entire time by the narration given through the main character's thinking process rather than actually speaking out loud. Now, I'm delving into a sea of Judy Blume. Ah the nostalgia!

When I first started researching around for my Chanel alike clogs by Campbell, I came across the Jessica Simspon Dany platform. I fell in love at 3rd glance being reminded of Charles Anastase RTW Spring 2009. Of course, by the time I caved and decided to purchase, all were sold out in my size in black and beige. I called stores and finally found out that that the Macy's in New York had some in beige. Thanks to Karen, who paid a visit, they came in the mail yesterday. We decided to blog about them on the same day, worn different ways. We seem to have the same taste in shoes... we could very well be sole sisters.
I feel like the Queen of Hearts.

At second glance, New York Fashion Week left me craving something sugary sweet with my bright colors. Betsey Johnson paid homage to the late Alexander McQueen with Alice in Wonderland like signs, while models festooned in Western wear paraded within a Saloon set atmosphere. Rebecca Taylor kept the colors pastel, the fabrics soft and the models channeling school girl garb. Generra mixed basics with tie-dye prints, dark knee socks and chunky ankle boots. The teal accents, spotted suede and funky mix of free-range patterns at Custo Barcelona had my heart skipping a beat or two. DKNY played up blazers as short dresses with laced platform oxfords and thick knits for a finished, fresh and easy-to-pull-together look. Cynthia Steffe utilized knee socks, berets and french je ne sais quoi? confidence to complete an effortless chic vibe that clearly came through on stage. The paint splattered prints, stick-thin pants and metallics at Nima made me want to transport back to 1998, listen to the Smashing Pumpkins, Silver Chair, Nirvana and the Stone Temple Pilots while wearing such contrasting couture.
Diane von Furstenberg toyed with metallics, mastered the long sweater coat and reminded us of her love for pom-pom hats and shiny accessories once again. And, 3 claps for Abbey Lee Kershaw!

A coverage of NY Fashion Week from afar. Snow can be so pretty but also somewhat troublesome. With a bit of luck, I hope I won't have any weather issues thwarting my NYFW plans next season.
Sparkly things, dazzling lips and bold colors. This season I'm seeing strong thoughts, unfolding like arms, into elaborate designs. Mod lips laced in glitter reigned at Doo.Ri while, part Parisian / part Hippie, accents marched on at Erin Wasson x RVCA. Organic, true to form and name, kept things simple and sleek, slightly vamping things up with splashes of seventies hues, bell bottoms and Barbarella hair. Only platforms were missing.
Other noteworthy collections: Richard Chai, Generra, Rag & Bone, Ports 1961, Vena Cava, Charlotte Ronson, Jason Wu, Cynthia Steffe, Alexander Wang, Cushnie et Ochs, Acne and BCBG.
Can't wait to see what comes next!
Who else is digging the Matrix meets Batman appeal at Alexander Wang ? Hello menswear in velvet, I love you.

When I was a little girl I remember not only being infatuated with the film Free Willy but also with the soundtrack. That Christmas I got my very first portable cassette Walkman and album to the movie. I remember riding my bike around my neighborhood with tape in tow on repeat, cheerfully singing along for all to hear. To this day, I still enjoy listening to music with headphones while riding my bike, I just don't sing as freely.
Michael Jackson's voice is not only soothing and inspiring but so full of soul..... something meant to share with the World.
