September 17th, 2010 marked the 5th year Raleigh has participated in the largest and most popular annual fashion event (fashionSpark) in the Triangle area! Local designers held the spotlight showcasing their unique collections and talents, I reviewed a few of my favorites below.

•Ahpeele and its husband & wife design duo play with bold geometric prints and floaty fabrics that seem to soar. The pieces made me think Pterodactyl.
•Gabrielle Duggan showcased her eerie pieces set to a Thriller like track and models who stumbled out, zombie-like. The face paint and sheer fabric had a special whimsy to it.
•Payton-Alexis introduces an eco-friendly line of bridal dresses in old-fashioned silhouettes.
•Raleigh Denim embraces North Carolina's rich textile heritage, bringing style & substance to denim. You can find their jeans at Barneys New York stores across the country. Men and Women styles are both available.

Lady Gaga hair set off chainmaille attire and leather meticulously at Zac Schell Designs.

Dior nuances and tulle appeal at Domino. Edgy party dresses, for the daring character.

A backstage peek / pre-show.
