Forward March

Brixton hat and t-shirt. H&M denim leggings. Forever 21 military vest. Asos studded ankle boots.

Sometimes I'm asked if Fashion is my first and only love. In many ways it is. I enjoy writing about it, studying it and collecting inspirational photographs that draw me in both consciously and subconsciously.

I, however, have other passions that bring me just as much joy. I truly take pleasure in cooking and creating a meal that not only tantalizes my taste buds but one that is also appealing to the eye in appearance. I pull many recipes from homemade books passed down to me by both my Grandmother and Mother as well as online sites and magazines. I sometimes come up with the tastiest of concoctions just by experimenting with what is already in my fridge.

Another fervor of mine is animals. I seem to lure them with my calm and approachable air. If I could rescue every single stray and care for them I would. When I was little I used to imagine having a gigantic castle where all of these animals I would save could live. I still dream about that today, just in more realistic terms.

Over the weekend I saw this fairy tale unfold about a special friendship between a young girl and her friendship with a fox. Shot in the beautiful mountains of France, we learn how love is not about possession but simply about being there for one another. The movie is called The Fox and The Child and I highly recommend it to those who haven't already seen it.

True friendship between human and animal is extremely difficult to attain because the human will inevitably be tempted to domesticate the animal, changing its character and life, longing to own it instead of just watching, liking and meeting it. -IMDB.com

The vest is super-cute<3
And that's a very interesting point the movie The Fox and the Child makes...haven't seen it but it's def. something to think about...I spent a couple years rescuing feral cats and the ones that were young enough and tame enough we would try to have adopted...no one ever wanted the feral one.:-(

Is the human tendency to tame regardless of the animal's origin or instincts?

I don't think you cut your hair right? I think it might be tucked in! I know for a fact (through personal experience) that cutting hair that's that long and gorgeous takes either a huge mistake (like what happened with my hair where the hair stylist chopped it all off) or after a couple of days, weeks, or months of deep thinking... I still love the look though! if you like studded boots check out topshops options! you'll heart everything they've got!

Okay, this is a bit spooky: just came here to steal - borrow - your photo(s) to do my 1st 'guess blogger' post, and I was thinking of doing it as a combination with my friend Jen's shot, and lo + behold.. your post today is more like what she was wearing in her shot!

So I'm going to find a way to combine it. If you give me a few hours, check it out. I'm not sure of the title yet, feeling really indecisive today.

Thanks for letting me do this! If you want me to change it in anyway, just let me know.

Swimming Pool is psychological thriller/mystery movie IT'S FANTASTIC! I love that it's set in Southern French country side it's gorgeous! It's about a writer who is kinda burned out in writing her same ol' mystery novels even though there hugely popular and have made her a lot of money, her boss sends her to his home in Southern France to get away so she can work on her next book. She's soaking it up but then a young woman shows up and you have to see what happens lol I think you'll like it, it's a french movie but they speak in English even though it's a thriller it gives me a sense of calm for some reason, it might be the settings of the french country side.

Here it is on IMDB.
